Home / The CyberChill Difference / Environment

environment

As a leading Australian supplier of commercial refrigeration products, CyberChill is conscious of protecting the environment and improving the energy efficiency of its products.

Whether it be reducing the heat loss of factory building through better insulation, using recycled packaging for all spare parts, or getting products on the UK Government’s Carbon Trust Energy List – the environment is always at the forefront of the thought process.

CyberChill cabinets are on the
UK Government’s Carbon Trust
Energy Technology List. They
have been independently
tested and meet standards on
energy efficiency.

Majority of components
used in CyberChill products are
100% recyclable and are fully
WEEE compliant.

CyberChill has one of the
lowest carbon footprints in the
industry. You can also reduce
your carbon footprint by
buying trusted Australian
refrigeration equipment.

Hydrocarbon - a naturally
occurring refrigeration on
gas with minimal Global
Warming Potential - now 100%
standard on almost all
CyberChill cabinets.

Ecodesign

As a result of extensive upgrades across the range, the products are amongst the most efficient on the market. Although many look the same, behind the scenes nearly all the components have changed and use the latest, most energy-efficient technology throughout. Most products have eco-friendly and ultra-energy-efficient R290 hydrocarbon refrigerant as standard.

GEMS/MEPS
& Energy
Labelling

(Greenhouse and energy minimum standards)

Compliant to ISO 23953 – Display Refrigeration EN 16825 – Storage Refrigeration

Following the implementation of Minimum Energy Performance Standard (MEPS) in July 2016, all relevant CyberChill products now have energy labels, along similar lines to those found on domestic appliances.

At this stage MEPS does not apply to products such as blast chillers, bottle coolers and prep counters with ingredient wells. However, the energy efficiency of all cabinets are constantly being improved.

The new MEPS tests are tough and, unless a product scores a minimum ‘E’ or above, it cannot be sold on the market. The upgrades we’ve undertaken mean that, for example, the HSS150 space-saving undercounter is A+ rated, and the top-selling MCU211 two door counter, HPU150 undercounter refrigerator and LPU150 undercounter freezer are all ‘A’ rated.
